About

Alterity.design focuses on systems analysis of research and development. The designs shown here are aspects of this broader research effort.

Research and development seem to be characterized by the flow of information in decisions. New information informs design direction. Hence the name Alterity: externality, influence, otherness - information or context that changes you.

The goal of this project is first and foremost to understand development cycles in a generalized way - this means designing design, researching research, and developing development meta-systems. Certain development cycles inherently converge onto more ideal outcomes. Our goal is to formalize the development cycle and optimize generalized and repeatable frameworks for research and development.

The good parts of my work are derived from the excellent research and theory coming from NECSI, Barabási Lab, and the Santa-Fe Institute. Please check them out if you haven’t, their research is amazing.
