This design comes from a lifelong obsession with oceans and waves - oceans are almost shapeless, always changing and transforming, exploring, crashing, and swirling. I studied and created water simulations to be able to more faithfully represent their shapes here.
Every one of these rings is different, coming from a different simulation of water. They then get 3D printed in wax and cast in precious metals by hand. This means every ring is a unique and faithful reflection of the natural forms of the ocean.
When words do not say enough, we turn to expressions and experiences - a sailing trip, a day at the beach, a sunset reflected off the thousands of waves. I tried to create something to carry those feelings around with us, a small symbol of the impossible beauty of nature both inside and outside us.
